HJ MANICURE - Child-friendly Nail Polishes
HJ Manicure is created by Helen J, she has had a wide
selection of experience within the fashion industry including modeling,
photographic production and management. HJ Manicure is Helen’s nail care range focusing on a
creation of on trend-nail colours which are available to us online.
The main attractiveness of the nail polishes are of course
their gorgeous colours, including the Classic, Nude and Holiday lines for
example, ensuring us there is a colour for every occasion. However, most importantly,
each polish is free from most toxic chemicals which are present in many nail
polishes you probably own within your own collection. Every single one of the
HJ Manicure polishes are free from Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resein,
Di—Butyl Phthalate (DBP) and Camphor.
The HJ Manicure collection is cruelty free and vegan
friendly meaning it is suitable for everyone.
I was lucky enough to be sent 2 to try out myself and I was
highly impressed at how the nail polish doesn’t smell. You may already know
that I have a 2 year old at home which means it’s quite difficult for me to
apply nail polish whilst keeping my home a child-friendly environment – I already
gave up doing my own gel nails pretty much straight after I gave birth!
The 2 polishes I have here are COCO and PINK BIKINI. In my
opinion, COCO is a little too dark for me, it makes my hands look a lot older
than they really should look, but the colour is such a classic colour and should
suit a woman of any age.
COCO is from the Classic, Nude and HJ Signature Collection,
a lightish brown which would be perfect for day time and night time, it also
gives quite an elegant effect which would be great for any outfit.
I love the size of the bottles but I would most definitely prefer
if they came in a round bottle because it’s easy to roll in my hands to warm up
the liquid. Having said that, I don’t know if it’s because the nail polishes
are brand new, but it is very flowy, very liquid-y which makes it easier to
apply.
Along with COCO, I received PINK BIKINI and you know how
much I love pink. This pink is what I call a “Barbie Pink”, it’s a candy pink
and it matches my business cards, which are obviously, very pink.
PINK BIKINI is a brand new polish as it has just arrived in
the HJ Manicure store and falls into the Classic, Nude and Holiday ranges. It
definitely fits into the holiday range, especially with “Bikini” being in its
name!
This pink has always been one of my favourites and I am a
big fan of pastel colours. One thing I didn’t like about applying this one was
that it was quite streaky, so it did need about 3 coats, in between each coat I
applied a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat just to make sure I didn’t
smudge it. So I can’t tell you exactly how long the lasting power is for this
polish. If I didn’t have to use Seche Vite, I’d be a lot happier because there
is NO smell from the HJ Manicure polishes… But, with Seche Vite, it has
literally every single toxic chemical that HJ Manicure has tried their best to
leave out.
Overall, I really like the polishes and can’t wait to try
more colours, I wouldn’t mind switching my whole collection of nail polishes to
these if I could because I know I could keep my home a more child-friendly home
no matter how much I change my nail colour.
HJ MANICURE Polishes are available online on their main
website and at £9.50 a bottle, I can tell you, you are definitely paying what
they are worth. If you want to try some more classic colours, I definitely do
recommend these polishes, if it’s a pastel colour, it is your choice because I
think the darker polishes apply a lot easier.
